Meet at Triangle Park
Undeterred by the global pandemic, the neighbors of Dreamhill Estates are continuing their decades long tradition of hosting an Independence Day parade. Albeit, with a few changes to keep everyone healthy and safe.
This year the parade will be a “car” parade – and by “car”, we mean, car, truck, motorcycle, mower or tractor. We will not be pulling a community trailer for people to ride. We are asking families to take part by driving their own vehicles and staying in their family groups.
For those of you feeling festive, you can decorate your vehicle. Or, you can show up and drive and wave at your neighbors and honk your horn.
We are encouraging everyone to ride in a vehicle and we ask that, if you walk or bicycle in the parade, you keep a safe distance from both other people and the vehicles.
If you don’t want to join in the parade as a participant, you can join in by waving at the passers-by from your yard or driveway. Starting at Triangle Park, we will proceed on West Beverly Mae to East Beverly Mae. From East Beverly Mae, we will turn left on Betty Lou and go up the hill to Dorothy Louise and will end the parade at the corner of Dorothy Louise and West Beverly Mae.
Those wishing to drive in the parade should meet at the triangle park at 9:00AM.
As always, we are inviting our local fire and police units to join us. The plan is to begin the parade between 9:10 and 9:15 – but our exact start time depends on when the police cars and fire engines arrive. Most years they can join, but their participation depends on their schedules and their need to respond to emergencies.
Unlike in past years, we will not be gathering at the DEERC property for the traditional picnic. However, we do encourage you to stop by the property when you are out and about to see the progress on the new building. It is coming along nicely. If you would like a tour of the inside of the building during the construction process, email us and let us know. If people are interested, we can organize a safe “tour” to show off the progress we are making.
