Carolyn Marshall

Carolyn Marshall passed away on Wednesday, April 21. She was a longtime neighbor and friend, and she will be missed.

Carolyn and her family moved into the Dreamhill neighborhood in September 1987. She earned her doctorate in 1994 and had a long and illustrious career in the health science field as a professor and researcher in Geriatrics at the University of Texas Health Science Center and as a course developer and lecturer at Incarnate Word.

I for one will miss chatting with her as I would take a break from my walks around the neighborhood and talk with her in the shade at her gate while she collected her mail. We would talk about our dogs and the news of the neighborhood. She loved living here, and she cared deeply for the quaint little corner of the world we call Dreamhill. I realized soon after meeting her she loved exploring and learning about new topics that interested her. She always had an interesting tidbit of knowledge to pass on or a wonderful book to recommend. She reminded me often that we should start a neighborhood book club.

You can find her obituary at the Porter Loring site here.
