Everything You Need to Know about Fire Extinguishers
Saturday, October 7: DEERC education board member Kathy Holcomb has confirmed The San
Antonio Fire Department to be here on Saturday, October 7 at 9 a.m. to discuss fire safety, and
specifically fire extinguishers. You’ll learn how long they last, how many times you can use them,
when you should replace them, how many you should have in your home, as well as answers to any
other questions you may have.
If you have one you have doubts about, bring your fire extinguisher to the class. (If it rains, this
session will be rescheduled to another date.)
Cowboy Breakfast Extends Invitation to Women Each Fall!
Saturday, October 7: The Men’s Cowboy Breakfast is open in the fall to everyone, men and women,
girls and boys. It’s a fun event with hot steaming coffee, eggs and bacon and sausage cooked by the
men over the open fire, grilled tortillas and lots of other goodies.
So mark your calendars for Saturday, October 7 on the DEERC grounds – enter along the private
road at 6800 Dorothy Louise. We’re hoping for great attendance again. Malcolm Coon and Carlos
Resendez are the organizers and they’ll be calling to find volunteers to cook and set up as well as
bring an item – think bacon, eggs, toast makings, pastries, orange juice, coffee and other libations.
Call Malcolm at 210-775-1824 to let him know if you can contribute.
