BUTTERFLY GARDEN TOUR IS SET AS NEIGHBORHOOD NIGHT OUT FEATURE
Tuesday, October 2,
4:30 PM
5007 EBM
Our newsletter information about the upcoming butterfly garden tour at Mark and Irma Prange’s house at 5007 East Beverly Mae on Tuesday, October 2 attracted the attention of Laura Garza in the District 8 office and she emailed to say the Councilman would make this a stop during his visits through District 8 on Tuesday. She has said he
will arrive at 5 p.m. so if you’re inclined to come to this event, plan to come at 5 and give our councilman a great big welcome!
The tour starts at 4:30 and Calvin Finch and Mark Prange will be offering continuous tours of last year’s planting which is now mature and attracting all sorts of flying friends. With Calvin and Mark’s help, you’ll learn to identify the different butterflies coming through our area – Monarchs, various swallowtails, queen butterflies and gulf fritillaries – as well as the various plants that attract them – different milkweeds, lantana, passion vines, salvia and others. It’ll be a great learning event
and we will have some refreshments and seating available.
